Below is a list of duties of the Market Manager

 

Gig Harbor Farmerís MARKET MANAGER DUTIES

This is a list of Market Manager duties from the GHFM contract 2002-2003.

  1. Act as liaison and public representative of the GHFM Association (GHFMA) to:  the public; city, state, and federal agencies; WSFMA; any many others.

 

  1. Recruit vendors that meet GHFMA and WSFMA criteria.

 

  1. Distribute information, including monthly newsletter and applications to vendors and return phone calls regarding market business.

 

  1. Maintain vendor records as directed by GHFMA, and update, file, and store Market vendor records.

 

  1. Collect donations and fees set by the GHFMA and deposit to an account designated by GHFMA on first working day following the Market Day.

 

  1. Perform duties of Operations Manager of the Market site during Market days.  This includes storing and transporting all necessary Market equipment, and supervising Market setup and assignment of stalls.  Manager should deal with vendors and customers in a courteous and professional manner.

 

  1. Enforce Market rules and regulations as set forth by the GHFMA and any governmental agency(s).

 

  1. Provide assistance to vendors in complying with Market policy.

 

  1. Make change for vendors and customers.

 

  1. Provide the GHFMA with copies of any and all contracts and insurance papers.

 

  1. Organize storage facilities, maintain a Market toolbox, ensure the presence of a certified fire extinguisher in open view at the Market site, provide first-aid supplies and have all required first-aid supplies visible at the Market site.

 

  1. Arrange sites for GHFMA meetings, craft committee reviews of new prospective vendors and any orientation meetings required by GHFMA.

 

  1. Report Market activities at the monthly Board of Directors meeting in writing, with a copy given to each Board Member.

 

  1. Ensure all appropriate fees and bills are submitted to the Treasurer for payment within 7 days of receipt.

 

  1. Oversee additional Market activities, including but not limited to:  Childrenís tent, advertising and entertainment, restrooms and storage shed.  Inform the Board of Directors if any of the above activities, or any other activity, requires additional funding, and submit funding request for any and all such activities.
